Pterygoid Implants
Implants placed into the dense pterygoid bone behind the upper jaw, engaging some of the strongest bone in the skull to support back teeth without sinus lifts or grafts, eliminating unsupported cantilevers on full-arch bridges.
CBCT imaging defines the pterygomaxillary corridor; a longer implant is placed from the back of the upper arch at a precise angle into the pterygoid plate region, achieving very high initial stability; typically combined with anterior implants and often loaded immediately.
Patients missing upper back teeth with pneumatized sinuses and minimal posterior bone, full-arch patients wanting molar support without cantilevers, and those avoiding sinus lift grafting.
