CBCT 3D Scanning

Cone Beam Computed Tomography captures a complete 3D image of the teeth, jaws, nerves, and sinuses in seconds with low radiation. Every surgical plan at Diamond Arch — extractions, implants, grafting, TMJ evaluation, and pathology — begins with CBCT, replacing guesswork with millimeter-accurate anatomy.

How it works

The scanner rotates a cone-shaped beam around the head once while a flat sensor records hundreds of images from every angle. Software reconstructs those frames into a single volumetric data set that can be sliced in any direction, so bone height and width, nerve canals, sinus floors, root positions, and airway can all be measured directly rather than estimated from a flat film.

What it means for patients

Because the anatomy is measured before anything is opened, surgery is planned around the nerve and sinus instead of discovering them mid-procedure. That means shorter appointments, fewer surprises, less swelling, and a far more accurate answer to the questions patients actually ask: can I have an implant here, and is my bone sufficient? Radiation exposure for a focused dental scan is a small fraction of a medical CT.
